Faced with the energy crisis, the ST DIGITAL Datacenter has taken measures to ensure the continuity of its services.
In a national context marked by an unprecedented energy crisis, energy is one of the primary concerns for businesses. In the face of serious risks of power outages, ST DIGITAL has taken the necessary measures to maintain its operations and deliver its telecoms and IT services, in the event of a power supply interruption or temporary outage. Over the past few weeks, we have implemented a set of complementary measures to anticipate probable power load-shedding.
The business continuity plan implemented includes our Datacenter hosting resources and our telecommunications networks. It is built upon the processes and security measures in place prior to the particular context we are experiencing, and has been extended and enhanced to address this new situation.
The resources dedicated to fulfilling our role as infrastructure manager, essential to the operation of our clients' activities, whether businesses or public entities:
For our clients hosted in our Datacenters:
- All our Datacenters are equipped with generators with full fuel tanks. They provide a minimum of 48h of autonomy at full load. These generators undergo monthly load tests lasting between 1 and 4 hours.
- We have additional fuel tanks (10,000 litres) on-site, providing a minimum of 120h of additional autonomy at full load.
- Fuel resupply is provided through contracts with specialised suppliers, with delivery by tanker truck.
- All our datacenters are equipped with energy rooms featuring battery banks to provide a clean autonomy of over 18h (tested).
For our clients hosted in colocation Datacenters:
We have ensured that all available means are implemented to guarantee service continuity.
Regarding our support and operations teams:
- Our support services are located primarily at the Douala and Abidjan sites, secured by multiple generator sets.
"Our investments aim to secure the operation of our services hosted in our Datacenters for a minimum of 120 hours, without replenishing our fuel stock. Our telecom services will be backed up for a minimum of 2 hours, the most critical services being secured for 4 hours, and ultra-critical services being secured for 72 hours".
