Kick-off of the year of improvement at ST Digital

ST Digital launched its 2022 year! From 13 to 16 January 2022, all ST DIGITAL subsidiaries (Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo) gathered to prepare for 2022, a new year placed under the sign of improvement. In order to address new regulations and drawing on our experience in organising Congresses and online Seminars, we decided to hold our kick-off in a Hybrid format from two sites: Douala and Lomé.

After 5 years of existence, the launch of 2022 had something special about it. It was an opportunity to look back on 2021, what worked well — but also what worked less well. From Douala to Lomé and over three days, teams divided into workshops reflected on how to improve the experience that ST Digital offers its internal and external clients. Indeed, this year again, as in the past, the client remains at the heart of ST Digital's concerns.

The primary objective of this kick-off was to clarify the 2022 goals, define the corporate strategy for achieving those objectives, and present the overall company vision to all employees, particularly those who have recently joined us. In this regard, the kick-off is a particularly effective management tool for uniting and motivating teams around a shared vision:

  • Introduce employees so that everyone is aware of the different roles and responsibilities of each person. Knowing who does what will facilitate communication throughout the year;
  • Communicate the objectives, which must be simple and achievable.
  • Involve the company's employees by enabling them to take ownership of it.
  • Establish a schedule for the main project milestones.
  • Identify potential obstacles and ways to overcome them.
  • Encourage exchanges: this is an opportunity for participants to express their doubts, which both reassures them and allows the various perspectives to be leveraged in finding solutions.
  • Answer as many questions as possible and raise those for which answers will need to be found.
  • Present the communication plan: who will be informed of what and when.
  • Create a dynamic and a climate of trust so that the year goes as well as possible.

As every year, we had the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of high-quality external speakers. Georges Nguimbous, Deputy Managing Director at GROUPE SOFOCAM, led a session specifically dedicated to sales techniques, and Louis Tsoungui, life coach and former professional basketball player, reminded the teams of the demands of high performance in a team-building exercise. At the end of these three days of reflection, each subsidiary returned with a winner's mindset. See you in 2023.
