The issue of data sovereignty and the digital security of States is increasingly at the heart of discussions. At a time when the internet has become a new means of pressure in both national and international exchanges, it is crucial for every African country to take control of the management and governance of its population's digital data. It is with the aim of enabling Africa to manage and secure this data that ST DIGITAL, the first neutral and independent operator of a Tier 3 Datacenter in Cameroun, officially launched the 100% African cloud platform www.cloudstore.africa on 5 December 2023. It is both a platform and a website that will provide access to digital services in accordance with the legal framework.

« cloudstore.africa is an innovative solution that aims to provide African businesses with easy and secure access to cloud services. It addresses a growing demand for cloud solutions tailored to the African context. Indeed, the continent is experiencing strong economic growth, an expanding digital sector, and a growing connected population. These factors create opportunities for businesses looking to digitalize, innovate, and differentiate themselves from the competition. It offers a turnkey, flexible, and affordable solution that allows them to benefit from the advantages of the cloud without the technical or financial constraints », states the CEO of ST DIGITAL.

The website offers individuals, businesses and public sector stakeholders four cloud products. The first is a 100% African email service. This platform provides the ability to have email inboxes stored in a Datacenter in Cameroun. This makes it possible to have an email address with a .cm extension. If your name is, for example, armelle sitchoma, your email address will bear your name and could be armelle@sitchoma.cm. No more need for extensions from yahoo, gmail and others. Professional and personalised email addresses are available at 990 XAF/month.

The second service offered is website hosting in Cameroun. In terms of digital sovereignty, this is an essential point. Thanks to the local network, national operators as well as all Cameroonians can access their websites hosted in Cameroun, and by extension, avoid the risks associated with fibre optic outages. Website and web application hosting ranges from basic to premium, passing through standard. Hosting costs range from 4,900 XAF, 9,900 XAF and 14,900 XAF per month depending on the chosen option. The other service offered by the platform is the virtual server.

ST DIGITAL now offers businesses the ability to connect to their site and access a dedicated virtual server. They will thus be able to deploy their applications and store their data as they see fit. The fourth service attached to this platform is the domain name. The .cm is sold on www.cloudstore.africa from 9,900 XAF per year. The platform accepts mobile money payments and credit cards.

"The first added value is that this data is stored in Cameroun. It is truly important to be part of the Cameroonian digital ecosystem. From a technical standpoint, this eliminates exposure to disruptions caused by international fibre optic outages. We offer an excellent price-to-quality ratio. We have pricing options for targets ranging from start-ups to large enterprises, starting at 4,900 Fcfa per month for website hosting or 990 Fcfa per month for an email address. We offer excellent value for money for every type of business. Beyond cloud services, our datacenter also provides high-performance server availability for users such as banks, the State, and large enterprise services," assures the Chief Executive Officer of ST DIGITAL.

ST DIGITAL is the first neutral and independent player to operate a Tier 3 Datacenter in Cameroun. Beyond IAAS, SAAS and Colocation Cloud services, the pan-African company ST DIGITAL, established in 7 countries across Africa — namely Cameroun, Gabon, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Benin and RDC — offers digital transformation consulting services, integration services, training, application development and cybersecurity. These are technical, digital and essential services for data sovereignty and digital sovereignty, underpinned by international security and performance standards.
