Microsoft has introduced a set of new features in Windows 365. Here is a summary of the changes and features that Microsoft introduced during the month of July.
General
• Transition to general availability of Windows 365 Frontline, an offering dedicated to frontline employees enabling provisioning of up to 3 Cloud PCs and one concurrent session per licence. You thus licence 3 individuals with a single licence, and each employee has their own Cloud PC. The number of concurrent sessions is calculated based on the number of licences and the ratio per licence.
• A new least-privilege role is now available. You must manually remove the former network contributor role from the resources where the ANC was created.
Device Management
• Support for group-based licenses for Cloud PC resizing.
• General Availability of the Cloud PC migration in order to move them from one region or Azure Network Connection (ANC) to a new one. This is done through provisioning policies.
• You can now allow users to reset (reprovision) their own Cloud PC.
Application Management
User Experience
• The Open button of Windows365.microsoft.com in the browser includes the Windows 365 application and Open in Remote Desktop application.
• Windows 365 application users will receive a notification when an update is available. If users choose to update, the application closes and they receive a Windows notification when the update is complete.
• Preview of camera support by the Windows 365 web client.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting
• The resource performance report in Endpoint Analytics is now available for Windows 365 Government.
• The Azure network connection health check status in Microsoft Intune now includes a correlation identifier. This identifier helps the support team resolve customer issues. Be sure to provide the identification number when contacting Microsoft support.
