A new Datacenter, designed according to international Tier 3 standards, was inaugurated on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Village des technologies de l'information et de la biotechnologie (VITIB) in Grand-Bassam. Led by ST Digital Côte d'Ivoire, the project aims to strengthen the country's digital sovereignty, reduce dependence on foreign equipment, and accelerate digital transformation in the region.
Spanning 4,000 m², the Datacenter is equipped with a redundant electrical and IT network guaranteeing 99.98% availability. It enables the hosting of high-value data and offers a 100% African Cloud. Eco-responsible, it was partially built with local materials and respects the environment.
Anthony Same, CEO of ST Digital Groupe, emphasised that the infrastructure will enable a significant share of sovereign data to be stored locally, thereby consolidating the country's "digital sovereignty". According to him, the Datacenter constitutes a strategic tool serving public administrations, businesses and innovative projects, while fostering an integrated African digital ecosystem.
Olivier Avoa, Director General of Digital Transformation and Digitalization, recalled that this project is part of the Head of State's vision to make digital technology a lever for the modernization of the State and economic competitiveness. He also highlighted the rapid growth of the African Datacenter market, estimated at more than 5 billion dollars by 2030, and the need for Côte d'Ivoire to strengthen its infrastructure to become a regional digital leader.
ST Digital, already present in several African countries, reaffirms with this project its commitment to offering an integrated and secure African Cloud, while consolidating private and public investments in support of the country's digital transformation.
