ST Digital, pioneers in cloud and datacenter solutions in West and Central Africa, introduces GPU Cloud Africa. This is the first sovereign AI server hosting offer equipped with NVIDIA GPU processors, launched in Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroun.
According to ST Digital executives, this powerful infrastructure guarantees optimal performance for deep learning, big data analytics and advanced simulations. "GPU CLOUD AFRICA provides African innovators with the resources needed to develop their own AI solutions, without depending on foreign infrastructure," explains Anthony SAME, Group Chief Executive Officer at ST DIGITAL.
According to Anthony Same, deploying servers with NVIDIA Tesla M10 GPU units in Douala and Abidjan is an essential step toward a digitally sovereign Africa. "Today, 95% of African AI talents are forced to use infrastructures and solutions with limited capabilities," he confides. He adds: "For example, while a G7 startup can fine-tune its AI model in 30 minutes, our innovators must wait up to six days. This situation is no longer acceptable, especially at a time when AI is the driving force of global economic transformation."
GPU Cloud Africa aims to enable hundreds of African start-ups and research centres to develop their AI solutions under optimal conditions.
Starting from the second quarter of this year, GPU Cloud Africa will offer a GPU NVIDIA infrastructure capable of supporting local needs, a secure and sovereign environment for African data, pricing tailored to local realities, and proximity technical support to assist clients.
