With today's news, customers will be able to leverage cloud-delivered security in their micro-branches, benefit from improved data loss prevention, and measure end-to-end digital experience.
FortiSASE already protects the hybrid workforce through a unified agent and includes SD-WAN integration for the branch, and today's news consolidates FortiSASE as the most comprehensive offering on the market.
SASE for micro-branches and IoT/OT devices: FortiSASE now includes extended integrations within Fortinet's WLAN portfolio to further help organisations secure micro-branches and associated devices. FortiAP wireless access points intelligently offload micro-branch traffic to a SASE point of presence (POP) for comprehensive, large-scale security inspection for all devices, including IoT and OT devices. This integration also means that Fortinet's WLAN portfolio can be managed through the same simple, cloud-based management console that customers already use for FortiSASE. All these updates complement Fortinet's existing support for on-site users and offer enterprises a new cloud-based security approach by extending enterprise-grade protections — such as sandboxing, intrusion prevention systems and URL filtering — to micro-branches without additional appliances or services.
Enhanced Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Service: As part of its cloud-delivered security services, FortiSASE includes the FortiGuard-powered DLP service to protect sensitive data across the hybrid environment. This service now includes a broader range of data identifiers, file types and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) applications, as well as advanced data matching techniques to prevent accidental data leakage. By continuously improving DLP, Fortinet provides enterprises with in-depth insights into their cloud applications and tools to effectively counter emerging threats.
End-to-end Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM): Fortinet's DEM offering integrates with FortiSASE to provide insights into users, Fortinet's global SASE POPs and the performance of SaaS applications — including WebEx, Office365 and Dropbox — for comprehensive network and SaaS application monitoring. In addition, this integration provides endpoint monitoring to deliver end-to-end visibility, giving IT teams the information they need to reduce resolution times and ensure a positive user experience.

Fortinet was recently named a Challenger in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ 2023 for Single-Vendor SASE. This was the first Magic Quadrant of its kind, and Fortinet was one of eight vendors named. Additionally, Forrester named Fortinet a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Zero Trust Edge Solutions, Q3 2023, which evaluates the 10 most significant solutions.
"Highly distributed application environments and hybrid work initiatives create significant challenges for organisations attempting to deliver secure connectivity. The increased complexity and risk of these environments is driving the need for more comprehensive SASE solutions. Fortinet understands these challenges and has responded by adding new capabilities beyond its unified management for SD-WAN and cloud security. It now offers better protection for micro-branches by integrating with WLAN, as well as adding DEM and providing enhanced DLP to protect hybrid workers and IoT/OT devices." – Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group
