ST DIGITAL, Fabrice ADZRAKOU

On Thursday, May 15, Lomé was the venue for an unprecedented gathering bringing together professionals from the Togolese public sector around a topic of paramount importance: "The digitalisation of public administrations: challenges and prospects". This event, initiated by ST DIGITAL, aimed to strengthen understanding of digital challenges and to propose concrete solutions to modernise Togolese public services.

After a successful first stage in Yaoundé, this meeting in Lomé was designed to be even more ambitious in terms of mobilisation and experience sharing. Participants were fully engaged, aware that digital transformation is now an indispensable lever for administrative efficiency and citizen satisfaction. In Togo, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, in collaboration with the Togo Digitale Agency (ATD), is actively working to structure this transition. Their ambition is clear: to make digital technology a performance driver for the public sector, in the service of both the population and businesses.

A unifying event to drive change

ST DIGITAL's initiative was not merely a presentation of solutions, but above all a platform for dialogue where public sector stakeholders were able to share their experiences and concerns. This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the progress of digital transformation within Togolese administrations and to reflect on the concrete actions to be implemented.

From the opening of the event, the Sales Manager of ST DIGITAL Togo - Bénin emphasized the importance of involving public administrations in this digital drive. She recalled that in order to succeed in digital transformation, it is essential to establish close collaboration between the public sector and technology experts.

The challenges of digitalising public administrations

The exchanges among participants highlighted several challenges faced by Togolese administrations:

  • Accessibility to modern digital infrastructure: Some administrations still face difficulties in acquiring high-performance and interconnected tools.
  • Training of public servants: To achieve digital transformation, it is essential to support teams with tailored training programmes.
  • Data management and cybersecurity: Protecting sensitive information remains a critical point in the implementation of digital services.
  • Embracing change: Cultural and organisational resistance can hinder the adoption of new digital practices.

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, with the support of the ATD, has already initiated several projects to address these challenges. Among recent actions, we can cite:

  • The implementation of digital portals for administrative procedures.
  • Awareness and training campaigns on the use of technologies.
  • The development of initiatives to strengthen the cybersecurity of public data.

ST DIGITAL, a committed player in digital transformation

Beyond identifying the challenges, ST DIGITAL presented at this meeting concrete and proven solutions to support Togolese public administrations. With its Tier-3 certified data centres, we guarantee secure and Africa-based infrastructures, thereby meeting the requirements of data proximity and sovereignty.

The exchanges also made it possible to present successful use cases in Africa, where digital transformation has contributed to improving administrative management and the quality of services to citizens. These examples demonstrated that, when properly supported, administrations can make a significant leap towards modernization.

  • Reliable and secure cloud hosting solutions;
  • Training programmes to strengthen the digital skills of staff;
  • The implementation of management and process optimization tools
  • Collaborative work tools to facilitate internal and external communication.

Digital innovation at the heart of modernising Togolese public services

Driven by a shared ambition, the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Togo Digitale Agency have laid the foundations of a national strategy focused on the modernisation of public services, widespread access to digital infrastructure and the upskilling of public officials. During the May 15 meeting, public stakeholders warmly welcomed the establishment of online service platforms and the deployment of secure networks, which are essential for making administrative procedures more reliable and straightforward. ST DIGITAL is asserting itself as a key player in this digital revolution by offering technology solutions tailored to the Togolese context. Committed alongside public administrations, we intend to transform the identified challenges into concrete opportunities, by equipping the country with high-performance infrastructure and solid expertise, for a smoother and more secure citizen experience.

Event recap: "The digitalisation of public administrations: challenges and prospects"

By mobilizing the efforts of the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Agence Togo Digitale around a shared vision of modernization, Togo has laid the foundations for a more agile and transparent administration. ST DIGITAL's contribution, through its proximity cloud infrastructures, automation solutions, cybersecurity, and tailored training programs, complements this momentum by providing public services with tools adapted to their needs.

The time has now come to take action: rolling out dematerialised platforms on a wider scale, securing data exchanges and strengthening the skills of civil servants to ensure rapid and effective adoption of new technologies. By turning these initiatives into tangible successes, Togo will be able to offer its citizens a seamless, participatory administrative experience that is firmly oriented towards the future.
