On Thursday 2 October 2025, ST DIGITAL officially unveiled its very first eco-responsible, 100% African data center in the free zone of the Village des Technologies de l'Information et de la Biotechnologie (VITIB) in Grand Bassam, Côte d'Ivoire. Built in just eight months, this 4,000 m² facility demonstrates local expertise and the commitment to providing digital infrastructure meeting the international Tier III standard, compliant with the TIA 942 specification.

This data centre represents a powerful symbol for ST DIGITAL and the whole of Africa, embodying the ambition to build a sovereign African cloud that secures data for businesses and public administrations while meeting ecological imperatives. By using local materials and integrating environmentally responsible practices, this centre actively contributes to the energy transition and the reduction of the carbon footprint of Africa's digital sector.

With a capacity of approximately 160 racks hosting more than 6,000 physical servers and 50,000 virtual servers, this data centre meets the growing needs of African SMEs in terms of storage, Big Data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. By strengthening the Ivorian and West African digital ecosystem, it opens up new prospects for the creation of skilled jobs, local skills development and technological innovation.

For ST DIGITAL, this project goes beyond mere technical infrastructure: it represents a concrete commitment to African digital sovereignty. By developing African talent and mastering international standards, ST DIGITAL is leading the way towards a sovereign, sustainable and competitive digital future.
