(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroonian digital services firm ST-Digital officially inaugurated its Tier III data center in the Grand-Bassam district of Côte d’Ivoire on Oct. 2, 2025. The new facility is central to the company’s expansion and digital security strategy across the continent.
“With this tool, our digital momentum takes on a new dimension. In a context where digitalization is accelerating and cyberattacks are multiplying, having local infrastructure is essential to protect our data,” said Anthony Same, CEO of ST-Digital.
The new Abidjan data center is part of ST-Digital’s aggressive expansion plan, which includes similar infrastructure already operating in Cameroon, Togo, and Congo. Earlier this year, on Feb. 13, 2025, the company announced the acquisition of a site in the Nkok Special Economic Zone (GSEZ), located 27 kilometers from Libreville, Gabon, for the construction of an eco-friendly data center.
ST-Digital, which developed the first 100% African cloud platform, is one of the most dynamic digital companies in terms of investment across Africa over the last five years, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) 2025 Investment Report.
"Between 2020 and 2024, 16 companies announced investments in data centers in LDCs [Least Developed Countries], focusing on small-scale projects (with a total value of $12.6 billion), and medium-scale projects (with a total value of $2.5 billion) in middle-income countries such as Malaysia, Mexico and Nigeria. Notable investors include Djibouti Data Center (Djibouti), Econet Global (Mauritius), Hiranandani Developers (India), Paratus Africa Group (Namibia) and ST Digital (Cameroon)," the UNCTAD document indicates.
Founded in April 2017, ST-Digital is now present in seven African countries: Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The company offers a wide range of digital solutions, spanning cloud services, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, application development, digital transformation consulting and integration, and training.
